Check it out...Decided to capture one of the daily storms at the Jettywolf Lodge. Tornado's with 110 MPH came down and ripped trees and picked up cars not far from me.

But the Jettywolf was snug as a bug under a rug! And I was too.....I did substain some damage as you'll see in the video. (LOL)

Yep. This is almost daily. Summer is not really a safe time, thats for sure.

JW, ain't that the truth. Our relatives in JAX have enjoyed some minor water intrusions into their home from all that bounty. While here in the State famous for its red clay, red is the color of the water is such that one would be tempted to walk across streams and rivers. Check out this link, explains why the MOSQUITOES are the worse they've ever been in my 57 Years: http://www.griffin.uga.edu/aemn/cgi-bin ... &report=rf

But it is this measure that will have you all wincing at the grocery store when you shop for seasonal produce: http://www.griffin.uga.edu/aemn/cgi-bin ... V&report=w While home gardeners like me who grow in pots/buckets have managed to salvage a few tomatoes and peppers, the stuff we have to plant in the ground has all but been wiped out by the excess moisture and those which did survive are not producing due the lack of pollination along with the explosion of garden pests. I had my prettiest giant jalapeno variety stripped completely of its fruit and limbs in an afternoon by unknown insect assassins. So damp and moist that application of insecticides is pointless and wasteful.

Here is a snapshot of my fishing hole, note the averages shown and why it has been a very tough fishing season for us inland guys here: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/ga/nwis/uv/?site_no=02210500 My last trip was this past Tuesday early AM and found the river at 4.5 ft. and the flow at around 1000cfs and for about 45 minutes it was a catch every cast (bream). Then the siren went off and the bite ended as the water rose two feet in about 20 minutes. So much water backed up behind our dams here that power generation schedules are meaningless, see the Savannah River situation for an example: http://www.wjbf.com/story/22819449/rain ... -the-river

Dave We get rain! Just Summer time is the dry sun shinning cool fishing time of the year. No need to spoil it with rain. Dry weather equals Brown Lawn that equals no grass cutting and extra time fishing. 70Degree days on the water. (water temp is 54*) God's Country

Sorry for all of the rain you all are getting. Bright side them Fire Ants have moved or drowned

goatram, didn't you know that fire ants are not killed by rain or flooding? When their nest is flooded, they simply join hands in a giant mass and float to new ground. It is quite a sight and one that you do not want to come into contact with since they are already highly irritated. :gunner2:

Rain again, we're in the red area: NOAA

Four more inches in the last 10 hours....the couple of squash still fighting for life are doomed. Not a single fruit from anything I planted in the soil this season but they all grew like gangbusters. Looked real pretty too, just no FOOD from it. :banghead:
