Just spent 2014-2016 overhauling a boat that I can no longer fish due to a recent, unsuccessful back surgery. I have the scar and immobility to prove it, so this isn’t just another excuse. She’s been in dry storage for the past year and a half and despite recent efforts (new batteries, new FF, both engines serviced) to get her ready this fishing season, my body cannot physically justify a day on the big pond and I’m forced to put her up for sale.

“Graylight” is truly a one-of-a-kind 23’ custom double-hulled, welded aluminum, walk around pilothouse (similar to a 24’ Monark military/utility boat). This boat turns heads every time at the dock.

Boat is currently located in Ventura, Ca. She belongs back in the PNW and perhaps someone up north is willing to travel south a bit to get an amazing deal on a boat that is literally 1/2 the price of similar pilothouses listed in Oregon/Washington.

She originated in Washington State and was designed and built for Harbor Patrol out of Seattle. It’s basically indestructible, meant to take on floating debris/logs with its thick aluminum hull. With the pilothouse close to the bow, the deck space is huge for a boat its size. 4-5 adults fit comfortably on her. She’s built for big weather and we’ve comfortably gone through some rough Channel Island crossings without issue.

We purchased this boat in the summer of 2014 and completely stripped her down for an overhaul. She was completely sanded, repainted, retooled and repowered.

I tow her easily with my Toyota Tacoma and because she’s relatively light for a 23-footer, the fuel economy with the new Honda is amazing and she absolutely flies on the water. You will not find another pilothouse this size that is capable of island trips or chasing tuna at such a low fuel cost. Cruising speed at only 3200-3400 rpms is 25-30 knots. We’ve had her up 44 knots in flat calm conditions with plenty of Honda power to spare.

New tags/registration good through June, 2019
