Workskiff for Auction in NY
Interesting, I like the dive door! Might be a little under powered.

I like that boat. Does the shaft on that outboard look too long for that boat and is that boat self bailing?

Re: Workskiff for Auction in NY
So let's say that you live in California (like me) and win this auction. I'll pay a Cal 8% sales/use tax plus a 9% NY sales tax. Then on top of that I'll pay a 16% fee to the auction house which is also taxed. So, let's say I win the auction for $24K. All the other garbage on top of that brings the true cost to $32,500, before shipping costs. Let's say all-in is $35K. What a bargain! And for me this would be buying a boat sight unseen, which I've never found to be a very good idea. Still, I'm sure that it was a nice boat when it was new, and it may be a nice boat now, if you live in NY state.

So don't bid on it then!

I was thinking of bidding on it but it has already gone above what I would be willing to pay, I was interested in it to flip. One cool thing about the government auction site is there is no sniping so if you bid a couple seconds before the auction ends it automatically extends the auction 15 minutes, it will do this indefinitely.

My thresh hold was about 10k. If it ends much above 15k its to much

Some one here on Long Island bought the boat. Got a quick look at it today. It will be in our shop next week . The boat looks like it was never used.

So it looks like this turned into a good buy for someone. Our local Yamaha dealer called and asked if we could raise the transom 5". The 90 Honda which was on the boat was removed and a used 250hp Yamaha 4 stroke was installed. I think its a little heavy and over-kill. I never got to meet the new owner. I encouraged the dealer to have him call me ,nothing yet. The boat is in great shape, it looks like it was never used.

jeez, a lot of HP for that boat. Overkill is an understatement.
That was a great deal.
Maybe a larger console is next ?
