Yamaha Oil Filter
Yamaha Oil Filter
Anybody know why my owner's manual says that I need to take my F50 to a dealer to have the oil filter changed? I can't imagine its any different than changing any other oil filter.

Re: Yamaha Oil Filter
I buy all my Yamaha parts from Andy at SIM http://www.shipyardisland.com Andy is a great guy and would answer any questions you may have.
I do all my own Yamaha work and call or email him all the time for help. I don't see why they would want you to have an authorized dealer do the work unless they are trying to keep their dealers busy......

Thanks Alloy Toy. I kind of figured they were probably trying to keep the work for themselves and was planning on changing it myself. I'll have to check out Andy's web site and order a filer and gaskets.
