catamaran

I'm looking for some ideas for a 25-30' cat hull tuna boat. I currently have a 20' Boulton with a partner which I use for near shore and San Francisco Bay and lake fishing. I used to own a Glacier Bay 27' cat boat which was a great ride for Farallons and offshore tuna fishing. I love the ride of a displacement hull cat! With my back, the soft landing is a necessity.

I would like a weekender setup with a small fort, head and big open fishing deck, but in Aluminum!! Two outboards, separate fuel, batteries etc. I talked to Armstrong and have an estimate and pics, but very pricey. I have been looking for used aluminum cat hulls, but don't see much in the towable range. I have a great shop and not afraid of the hull, but the finishes scare me.
I love the lines of the Australian/New Zealand boats.

Any ideas would he helpful!

Thanks and i love this site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is kind of a neat boat thats been on craigslist for awhile up here in Seattle. It looks like a Maxweld but with a nicer interior. Might be too big for you.

Chaps,

Thanks for your help! I have seen the Armstrong, nice but too much $ and the 34' custom is a little big for my plans and tow rig. As for the older Glacier Bay, I had one, newer, and while I like the ride I definitely want to go with an aluminum hull. I have been looking on and off for the last year and will keep watching here as well as craigslist, etc.

Do any northwest builders, other than Armstrong, build a 25-28' Cat hull?

Thanks again,

Mike
