Looks great, is this the 23' without the bracket?

Lost the bracket and Transom is done different. Rest of the boat is the same as the 2325.

I doubt the reason is to make it cheaper, probably just some people prefer the different transom.

I have the 2175 sitting out behind the house. The reason I decided to buy the boat without a transom bracket was to have the ability to fight the fish around the motors without reaching out so far with a short rod like when a hot dorado is making mischief around the back of your boat. Also when fishing salmon using down riggers, the lines are less apt to get stuck on the motors and bracket during a sharp turn.

There is plenty of working room to fight a fish 360 degrees around the boat. Also, it is easier to trailer the 21ft than the 23ft. I love my new boat!!! Works good

I think they told me at the factory that you loose something like eight or ten inches of interior space at the transom with the 2175 but the placement of the rear seat makes it perfect to face the rear of the boat and keep your eyes on the fishing rods. This makes your guests happy to be with easy striking distance of the rods if you are trolling. When jigging, four of us were able to line up along the rail on one side without the boat even beginning to lean over.

What kind of performance are you seeing with the 225? How many people and what Max HP is the boat rated for?

The Honda 225 works great. You would never need more power than that. The boat gets up on plane in seconds and glides along at a good clip effortlessly at 3500 RPM. Unfortunately there are no ratings from the manufacturer at this time. This was the first of the 2175 series. With four people, 3/4 tank of fuel, and a moderate day of fishing, the boat burned much less fuel than I expected. It runs quite well in the rough stuff too. We got caught in the Johnstone straight with 30 knot winds and a flooding tide which was the formula for hazardous conditions. We chugged right through that washing machine and our path never varied. It certainly bred confidence in the craft.

I have the first ever of that style, I believe. 2003 2325 with custom transom. Perfect on the drift, and does handle better (if you can believe it) around the docks than it does with the bracket...and I have docked both. If I ever had the money to build a larger Pacific weekender, I would build the transom exactly the same way!
That is a great boat! You will love it forever!

Yep, those were the days. Looks like you too could have used "side bumper rails". I wish I had them, or the money to get them done.

There had to be a reason for Pacific to offer this boat nowadays. I'd think less fab work, less material WOULD save costs...even if NOT passed on to customer.

Were are you at, Mexico or something???
