Pacific Boats Cutty Cabin?
Pacific Boats Cutty Cabin?
My net search has not been successful, so. I'm looking for an aluminum plate boat (Pacific Skiff type) to use for fishing in the Morro Bay and north area of Cali. I've froozen my rear off with a CC style boat, so, I'm looking for something with an open back cutty cabin w/maybe room for a bunk/and head. Just like the Sport Cabin on a Parker Boats2320. I figure on nicer days I can leave the back open, and on colder days I can snap in a canvas rear enclosure and turn on a heater. I like the 2352 because it has a deeper deadrise (18). Does anyone have any suggestions?

There was a Crozier 22 on the Seattle Craigs list. Lots of folks that can build you a nice boat in the NW. What you are looking for is pretty popular in the NW. I like Armstrong, but they ain't inexpensive these days.

Much better deal than the Crozier..

I have been on both, and the Armstrong is the best value. The Crozier is overpriced, but well built. Chad Crozier said he could build a brand new boat for the asking price.

Thats pretty close. I'm likin the forward tilted windows (cuts the glare and sheds water). However, I'm looking for a full width pilot house with walk around gunnels, and perhaps a v-birth. The rear of the pilot house can be open so I can just use a snap-in canvas to close it, or can have a door.
Thats a great looking boat BTW!

how about this one? Made by Wooldridge, an old family boat business. it is a 23 with a cool front opening for access to the anchor.

Re: Pacific Boats Cutty Cabin?
Very close actually. I like both. I hate to be a pita, now can they be combined. The first appears to be the full width of the boat which I like, the second (link) has the bunks. Can the full width cabin extend to the bow creating an actual v-birth area? I don't need to stand in bow area. The anchor/windless can sit on the cabin with rode storage in a hatch. Earlier I said 'walk around' gunnels. I should have said walk ON gunnels.Something along the lines of this; http://www.starlingmarine.com/wp-conten ... _64921.jpgwelder wrote:and check this link out>>>>>>>> http://www.pacificboats.com/pacboats_027.php
I guess I should expand a little on why I'm being so picky. I retired young (50) and I'll be moving to the Morro Bay area this summer. I'll be using the boat for the usual fishing, diving etc, but, I'll also be using my boat to take Wounded Warriors and their families fishing, etc. So, I need an area accessible to sleep, rest, change, etc. The Pacific appears to be a level cabin entry which will facilitate wheelchair access (mobility access) and an open back (or wide door) would do the same.

Let us know if you end up having Pacific build your boat. I would love to see picks of a 23 sport cabin pacific!
Cheers,
Mike
