Repowering to twin 200s?

#1

Post by JGLOBAL »

Repowering from a single Yamaha 350 to twin 200s on a Kingfisher 2825 (5000 lbs)
Transom Max Weight 1200lbs, Max horsepower 450

Anyone have any advice choosing between the Yamaha F200 inline 4s (487 lbs) vs. Suzuki DF200APs (496 lbs)?

I see you asked this on THT as well. There is a slightly older thread there with lots of info

Have you considered twin Honda BF 225's? They weigh the same as the Honda 200's, plus the (obvious) added 50 horses you gain in those twin engines. Just a thought.

I love my new Honda 225 (pushes my sled like a bat out of hell).

I have Twin F200 Yamahas fitted to my North Rover Offshore 24' (4800 lbs) with which I am very pleased. Good hole shot with WOT just scraping 50mph but cruising at +/- 4200rpm gives 33-36mph at around 2.20mpg.
