Used 23 Pacific on seattle Craigslist
Re: Used 23 Pacific on seattle Craigslist
It is almost as though he doesn't want to sell the boat. Such a poorly written title and description. He's even got the name of the manufacturer spelled wrong. I'm interested in any Pacific Boat/Skiff up to 23'. Just can't afford anything close to this. I'll just have to keep looking but thanks for posting this hard to find ad!

From the looks of the ad, it looks like maybe a Family member made the post on Craigslist.
Most of the time you see one of these ads it's because the wife is left with the boat if yall know what I mean.

Or, the wife makes the hubby sell the boat and he really doesn't want to do it?

Now I'm curious. Given the condition, hours and rigging of his Pacific what do you think is the market value?MacCTD wrote:Agree, that has to be close to what is cost in '10hustler wrote:$67.5K

I would say low $50s but there are very few that come up for sale used, so I suppose it is more what the market will pay, bottom paint is a big detriment to me as well.leemer wrote:Now I'm curious. I agree about the bottom paint. I just called the number on the ad and it is an employee selling the boat for his boss. He doesn't have a clue who painted it but said it looked like spray on bed liner similar to what you would see on a pickup truck. Seems like a horrible idea and if they used the wrong paint could be a catastrophic idea...MacCTD wrote:I would say low $50s but there are very few that come up for sale used, so I suppose it is more what the market will pay, bottom paint is a big detriment to me as well.leemer wrote:Now I'm curious. Re: Used 23 Pacific on seattle Craigslist
Maybe the idea of bedliner as bottom paint is similar to the recently posted new bottom coating with the " 4-1-15 molecular alignment"? where the knobby, rough surface "aerates the bottom for faster running speeds"?
Instead of smooth surface, traditionally viewed as the optimum water to boat interface, this boat features an intentionally roughed up, bumpy surface which could allow the air to make a bubble layer under the boat? Not sure I've heard of this before, and if someone were to put truck bed liner as bottom coat- would there be any possibility that the (potential) ignorance of the application might reflect on the ignorance of the applicator? What kind of preparations might or might not have been done?
This sounds questionable..... is there a Marine Survey available for this skiff -as found?
Price may be just the asking, offers often settle the ask to a new 'waterline'.
Cheers,

The boss must have pretty low standards for employees, there has to be at least 40 misspelled words in that ad.
Whats the beef with bottom paint? It keeps off growth and if done properly prevents corrosion.
I'll bet the boss would take $55k, told the employee he could have anything above that he could get

And if they used the wrong bottom paint...namely one with copper...Chaps wrote:The boss must have pretty low standards for employees, there has to be at least 40 misspelled words in that ad.

Most all of them have copper bottom paint . . . perfectly safe if done properly
Just got to have someone do it that knows what they are doing

So how does one check when buying a used boat? If it isn't copper based no issue?Chaps wrote:leemer wrote:hey Leemer, got some news for you, you know all those big aluminum commercial fishboats and yachts you see running around?Chaps wrote:

He will take 58K and not a penny less as of Friday. This is one awesome boat. That is a 24" radar he's got on there with auto pilot on both motors. He wasn't kidding around. I went and looked at it Friday and if it would fit in my storage area I would buy it in a heartbeat. Someone please buy this boat so I don't make a stupid decision!
Re: Used 23 Pacific on seattle Craigslist
Wow I wish I .15 cents so I can make a dollar out of it and save up to buy this sexy boat.
