Here's a photo when we built some 42' work boats with twin outboards for the Yukon River in Alaska.
These pictures are from the early 80's showing one of the boats being loaded and prepped for shipping. w/b

These pics were taken at Black Bar Lodge. My grandpa is on the right. The caretakers at the time were Hal & Bea Witherwox. Glen
On page 107 in the book, The Rogue A River To Run, Glen Senior is quoted, saying...
"We would put the boats in right under Robertson Bridge and drift down about twenty-five miles below Galice, to Black Bar Lodge. That was a really nice place to stay. Hal and Bea Witherwox built it there about 1935."

Ament Dam on the Rogue.
The Oregon History Project, (Created by the Oregon Historical Society http://www.ohs.org) states...
The Golden Drift Mining Company built Ament Dam to serve the Dry Diggings Mine a few miles upriver of Grants Pass.
The Ament Dam proved immensely unpopular with some locals. Long-time resident Glen Woolridge remembered that the “old Ament Dam was really an abortion. The salmon piled up below it and wouldn’t go through the dark tunnel of a fishway. It destroyed more salmon than the commercial fishermen ever caught.” In 1912, saboteurs dynamited the dam, causing a serious break on the south shore. The dam owners repaired the controversial structure soon after the sabotage, only to have a state fish warden dynamite a wing dam a few years later. In 1921, the entire structure was removed to make way for the Savage Rapids Dam. w/b

Blossom Bar on the Rogue before blasting.
A recent quote from Zach Urness of the Daily Courier (http://web.thedailycourier.com/zachsadv ... ml?h=bloss) stated... "Rogue pioneer Glen Wooldridge created the current passage by blasting out rock with dynamite during the 1950s." w/b

Although, not a historical pic, this is the (soon to be released) cover of the June Northwest Sportsman Magazine. (http://nwsportsmanmag.com/)
In the upper left is Glen Senior holding fish (with strong rowing arms!) and on page 18, there's an article about the history of Glen Sr. and Wooldridge Boats.
Look for this issue to hit the newsstands soon! w/b

This is from my grandpas trip on the Yukon in 1970. He is preparing for bed in his boat. You can read about this in chapter 22 of the book a river to run. Glen

Glen (right) and Mr. Degner at Blossom Bar during an early day drift trip down the Rogue. This was before Glen blasted the channel downriver. Probably in the 1930's.

This is on the Fraser River either the day before or the day of my grandfather’s Hells Gate run. It is downriver. My grandfather is in the red boat. My uncle Bruce is on the left with his back to you and has a dark shirt on. My cousin mark has a tan knit hat on. My cousin Mike has a dark knit hat on. He is facing you in the picture. I am the guy in the blue fleece jacket. On the 20th, my grandfather ran Hells Gate. After he ran it, my uncle Bruce also ran it. Glen.

Fred Hale is the pilot on the left, my grandpa in the middle. In 1955 Fred Hale crashed down by black bar lodge (on Christmas Eve.) When he didn’t come back, the next day Christmas, my grandfather and Bruce went down to rescue him. (The river was 30’ above flood stage!) Read about the story in chapter 20 in river to run.

This is a pic of my grandfather after he retired. To keep busy, he built some wood drift boats in his home shop.
