Transom clamp width for aluminum boat build

Aluminum boat build. 115 hp mercury. What is the width between the transom clamp? How thick can I make my transom and still get the clamp over it?

Also should I use 3/16" channel between 1/8 sheets? Or is 1/8 plenty? Should I use channel? Or square tube? Boat is 19 foot long and 8 foot wide

Southern', no outboard install manual? I'd have expected the max transom grip of the thread type clamps was given for any given model and brand? But bolts can be had any length?

Not sure the geometry of the other questions? I tend to use a little heavier than 0.125" on my transom mounts- but not sure of the channels/extrusions or bent material dims. you're referring to? Need more or a sketch to give any meaningful reply.
