Welding is basically done, gluing in all the wood strips, soon ready for interior painting.
Then on to wiring, interior fit-out, etc.

Sure hope you're making provisions to etch this pretty boat, preserving her for the long haul?

Re: 28' Crozier / Hunt - New build
Jon, Why did Chad not run the heater exhaust straight out to the side. Even with the insulation, my DT40 exhaust gets warm enough to melt plastic (we left a plastic hanger close to it once) That wood is in danger of at least scorching if not worse.

Concern over hot exhaust when walking along the port side deck, this way it goes
out the port side shell plating.
I will discuss with Chad about putting a heat shield on the wood - thanks for the heads up.

Jon, I just noticed and don't remember hearing you say anything about it. Lifting eyes? Planning on putting this on something bigger?

My 350' motor yacht......
We have a crane at out place in KTN, I can keep the trailer out of salt water and avoid the whole
boat ramp scene. Plus it's super convenient for 'quick haul" jobs.

Power is on, astute eyes will note that it is a used 350 - I am one of many waiting on my new Yamaha but that
is another story - I have power for the coming season which is all that matters.
Sea trial and in the water photo's soon.

Sea trials!
Complete boat with no gas or water weighed 7,980# - about 250# less than the NA's estimate.
It was a cold and windy day in Port Townsend last Friday - 40 degrees, 20+ kts. wind and 2' - 3' chop.
Boat ran very well, on plane at 3500 rpm going 20 kts. This speed was very comfortable in these conditions.
Under more benign conditions I'll likely be able to get a lower on plane rpm and speed.
Best cruise was 25.3 kts. at 4300 rpm burning 17.6 gph = 1.44 Nmpg
Top speed was 34 kts. at 5800 rpm, I'm also going to try a 3 blade prop for comparison.
F350 is a torque monster - advance the throttle to 3500 rpm and a couple of boat lengths later you are
on plane - very useful when trying to get home in marginal wx conditions.
On the Crozier Craft facebook page there is also a video that Chad took.
Chad and crew along with the guys at Westside Marine did an outstanding job!

Re: 28' Crozier / Hunt - New build
I use Randy and Mark at West Side Marine for all work on my Hewescraft Ocean Pro. Great guys to work with and the best Yamaha folks out there right now.
Well done on the boat. Where will you be berthing the boat?
