He everyone! I am a new member here, and honestly I joined because I believe I have something that will be of interest to the members here.

I have for sale my late father-in-law's dream boat. He commissioned Lee Shore Boats to build this boat on the West coast and shipped to CT. You won't find anything like it here on the East coast. It has been sitting on this trailer since it arrived, and I literally just took the shrink wrap off it a few weeks ago to get these pictures.

specs:
24x8.5ft Swiftsure 20 degree deep Vee commercial, self bailing hull
Flat plate gunnels with inner pipe rail
Transom lockers
Center console with windshield and handhold rails
Battery and switch located inside console
Bench seat with hinged lid 35" tall not including cushion
90 gallon below deck tank, rigged with fill and vent system, along with Racor filter and lines (ready to hook up motor)
12 volt system, which includes battery switch 6 position Blue Seas breaker panel on dash, bus bar, battery cables, group 24 starting battery and navigation lights
Transducer mount and bolt on Zincs installed
30" Transom set up for single motor
Hydraulic steering system and stainless steering wheel installed and power bled (ready to hook to motor)
Acid wash, Sharkhide clear coat all exterior surfaces
Prep/install two coats bottom paint primer and two coats black bottom paint approx 1" above water line

So the hull is completely rigged and ready for the motor - and on that note, also included is a brand new, in the crate Suzuki 250.

All you have to do is hang the motor and hook it up.

$60k without a trailer - we have a couple trailers to choose from that could be included for the right price.

We have all the paperwork necessary to sell this boat. The boat is located in Madison, CT at my mother-in-law's house. If you are interested or have questions, please reach out to me via email to get the ball rolling. daveavino ( at ) gmail ( dot) com

The buyer had a change of heart due to the draft of the boat - I should note that with the fairly steep v the boat has what looks to be like an 18-20 inch draft. So the boat is back for sale!

Dave, not sure if this matters in the boat's sale, but a note about the draft of the skiff shown with a 250 HP engine.

I'd guess but don't know for sure that a 250 would need about 15-17 inches of diameter wheel to soak up the horse power? Of course with lots of pitch, I guess that could be smaller but I'm not sure of the size prop? However, that diameter of the wheel will contribute to the draft of the boat because of the engine being mounted directly on the stern.

If the boat had a cantilever bracket where the wake rise could allow the engine to be lifted a few inches - that would help reduce the draft- but not present here in the pics. So the Anti-Cav plate will be within an inch or so below the bottom? Maybe a bit deeper with different props - or shallower with various combinations of pitch and diameter?

This size wheel located in relation to the planing bottom's after edge implies that below the keel there will need to be at least 15-17" of skeg? That would be added to the hull's depth of keel to the at rest waterline. A 20 degree hull forms a 7" (approx) V with an 8' bottom. The spec. lists the hull at 8.5' and I'm assuming this is at the topsides sheer? So guessing at a 7" V in an 8' bottom (to get 20 degrees) that's another adder to the effective draft?

Finally, its hard to believe the designer would allow the at rest waterline to be the chine? If this were the case- the boat would be nearly unstable at planning speeds where the waterline was reduced as the boat lifted on top of the water- leaving a potential for helm sheer or 'veering' due to slight imbalances in the waterplane; side to side.

I'll guess, from the photos, there's another 2-4" of hull draft above the chine; my estimate of all up draft is; with the estimated wheel (15-17"), plus the V (7"), plus the topsides (above the chine) draft (2-4") the boat draws from 24" to nearly 30" at rest with the leg down? These are all estimations based on my assumptions and not facts- just guesses.

Not a matter of concerned consideration for an offshore designed skiff. But one that would impact buying decisions of several of our recent posters here, who were discussing hulls that could run offshore - but would be used significant amounts of time in shallow waters?

Nicely built skiff, sorry for the sale in what appear to be less than happy family circumstances. Hope you're able to find someone who's interested in the boat and make everyone involved a good transaction.

Cheers,

Thanks Kevin,

All of the information I have is either from the initial build sheet of the boat, or based on measurements that I took. I measured from the painted line to the keel of the boat on the transom and got 25". The build sheet said that it was to be painted to 2 inches above the waterline, which would lead me to believe that with the motor up you are drawing close to 2 feet of water. This boat was definitely not designed for any sort of skinny water, and my Father-in-law's plans were definitely to take this to the sound and slightly beyond. That being said, any questions about specifics can be answered by the fine people at Lee Shore Boats - they know everything about the boat and if you are truly interested I'd really suggest reaching out to them. I've talked to Eric Schneider the president there and he is a very helpful person and I'm sure could answer any of the more technical questions about this boat.

I did take some more measurements of the layout that might be helpful for people that are interested which I've attached here.

Thanks for the sentiments about the sale. Cancer is awful and it's pretty gut-wrenching that he never got to enjoy this awesome boat. That being said, we know it's time to move this boat on to an owner that will get a lot of use out of it. There is no sense in it sitting here (especially when he also left us two other more family friendly boats to choose from)

Also a note about the trailer - This LoadRite is overkill for this boat, and I'm pretty sure that his plans were to move it over to a single axle charleston aluminum I-beam bunk trailer that we have too. I'll probably get the boat moved onto the appropriate trailer to be included in the sale. Here's a picture of the trailer (nevermind the boat that is on it)

This prop will go with the boat, it is right next to the motor, so I would assume it belongs with it.
