Some fish i caught
tarakihi deep and shallow water fish very sought after fish here in new zealand
over 2kg's each an taste sweet as :)
john dory all 7 pounds of it tasted even better freshly battered and deep fried :)

Cool looking fish. We have one that kind of looks like the tarakihi out here on the west coast called a sargo. The john dory is something else(a cross between a triggerfish and a halibut??????... I see why you used the name fish and chips. Makes me want to cook up a batch.

LOL cool shirt indeed everyday is birthday suit day...
ahem back to the fish... the john dory is thin when looking at it front on
it's mouth extends a good 10 inches to engulf it's prey
think of alien but without the teeth :)
my main fish i wish to catch is halibut, wish we had them here in nz all we have is turbot. big fish but not caught by anglers.
still both have firm white fillets. suitable to frying bakeing grilling but like any fish almost cooked is better than well done.

....our relatives of that fish here in Florida would be the "lookdowns" or some people say "Moonfish". Chrome plated cool as hell.
Wafer thin, good to eat.
I believe the "Jack", family of fishes.
