Everyone will probably disagree, but I think a good paint job would add a lot of value to the great fab job you've done.

Your absolutely right, we all LOVE RAW! ! ! ! ! ! !

But, for the mass market, a nice white or blue hull will go a long way to making the masses start to love the alloy.

I think that a ad with a photo of her in the naked and then painted shown side by side would be a powerful add, see her strength...see her beauty.
As the non-alloy base learns about alloy, the more will come asking for RAW...but tll that day comes...paint will sell more.

hat's just the way I see it too. Marty

I don't disagree at all. In fact, I agree.

On Hull #1 (pictured) we will be completely painting the whole interior and below the waterline leaving just the broadsides as bare (bead blasted) metal.

Many disagree with me about leaving even the sides as bare metal but my experience has taught me that when an alloy boat is completely painted than people (at a boat show, for instance) just walk by thinking it a one-off NON ALLOY boat.

When you show up at a show with an obvious alloy boat it stops people in their tracks.

So, Jeff....were taking the outboards off now - we wanted to sea trial the boat before we finished it up to make sure that we didn't have any major alterations/changes to make.

Also - looking at coating the below decks spaces with Mascoat Delta T - I'd be interested in anyone that's used it...

I see your point, good idea on the partial paint.

Will you use just the Rocksalt lLogo on the side in a bright color?

WE will use the Rock Salt Logo as soon as I get he right color red! THe red in real life is way different than the computer red...

Marty,

We'll also offer an absolute commercial finish - no paint at all (my favorite!).

I am going to use the Delta T or Delta DB on my hatches, bulkheads, and underside of the floor as soon as I find someone in the Seattle area to spray it. It's only $58 a gallon so I figure it's worth a shot.

Last I heard the boat was Sea trialed and pulled out . She is now in the shop being fitted and dressed up .

I think Rocksalt 34's next showing will be at Miami in Feb.

I'm sure Jay Perrotta will be along soon to fill us in about the progress. :joecool:

Jay,

Why not add some small hydrofoils like on the DOLPHIN.

Enough of these "southern" flat water shots

Lets see what this baby will do in "northern" 3-5' chop-4 seconds apart on top of 8' swells. If she can handle that at 30knts+....you have a winner on you hands

We had some great fishing up here in October/November this year on tuna for those that had boats that could handle those conditions (and worse). Build it and they will buy :skipper:
