If that was this past weekend. I think you got the only good fish out of northeast.
You didn't have the big friend with you this time Adrian, like last fall?

We arrived at the NWC a little after 7:00 am greeted by a fleet of over 100 boats already there.. I decide to stay away from the fleet even though Dave was sceaming "look at the whales and the birds over there " I stuck to my plan and set out 2 deep divers on 50's and 2 slugos one on a 50 way back one half way on a 25 tld. Got my harness on, cleared the deck, opened a soda, lit a cigar, and bam! The Xrap goes off. I start to clear the surface rods with the slugos and bam! the other 50 with a bomber plug goes off. Well to make a long story short, the fish that hit the xrap broke off the leader at the uni to uni knot I had tied the day before, before we could do any battle. The second fish was still on and still slowly taking drag.but once we got the 50 in the harness it was a short battle and drug him aboard through the tuna door - thanks Jay for adding a tuna door to these boats because there is no way I could have lifted this fish over the side. The fish measured just shy of 5' Cleaned, iced and back at the dock by 8:30am .

The top black line is the 100 fathom line, the middle line is the 500-fathom and the bottom one is the 1000 fathom line. When you see water like that EGE on the 100 line it is the best fishing.mtyThat is the

Marty, thanks for the info this is great learning for me as almost all my salt experience is inshore. It's interesting that the temperature gradient doesn't more closely follow the shelf contour, this surprises me. The 70 deg water must be the gulf stream. From this chart, you would fish the area b/t East and West Atlantis and maybe Veatch along the 500-fathom area, is that right.

Thanks,

Eric
