Durability. I keep seeing 20 year old aluminum boats -- work boats that have not been kept
in pristine condition -- and noting how they wear. Compared to other boat building materials
alloy holds up extremely well.
Take this skiff advertised on Craigslist for example.
I may not be the next owner of this boat, but I'll bet someone could clean it up, rewire the
boat and add power and have a decent fishing boat. Maybe have to replace the gas tank.
But there's no rotting cores or transoms to worry about. No delamination.

Is that boat in the Northeast? If you pass on it I would interested.

MacCTD:
I have too many boats already. It's in the state of Washington, though. Go for it.
Here's a pointer to the ad.

Thanks, wish it was local, that is a little too far away.

That’s a nice skiff… lots of potential there for a bad BACK SIDE fishing machine……
I've been told I need a life...I tell them hunting and fishing is my life...They tell me thats what they mean....

Looks like that 150 was pulled off it.

Chaps: From your signature, you've got a boat from each decade.
That's pretty cool.
>>Surprised you missed this one Illgoto!
I hadn't seen that one before and I'm glad you posted it.
I love seeing aluminum boats from the 60s, 70s and 80s still around.
It's like having grandparents and great grandparents still alive...
