LED Spreader Lights Question for Jim at Boe

Post by AlloyToy »

Jim,
I saw your design spreader lights on your web site. The covers to change the colors is a cool idea. However one question. Can you put a dimmer on LED lights? I'd like to be able to not only change the color of the light but also dim them way down for night fishing.

Our lights are actually designed to not dim. This was a feature we added to keep the lights from getting brighter and dimmer as engines are started, or the bilge kicks on, or the battery drains. So no matter what kind of juice the light is getting from 9 to 30 volts, it will always be a consistent brightness. There is no other light on the market that is stable like this. This is not to say we can't include dimmer setting on it, but as it stands right now we they can't be dimmed. For not-so-bright ambient lighting you might just get some under gunwale red rope lights.
