NEW SEASON Forgiveness Please!

#1

Post by pjay9 »

ForGive Me AlloyMen...I was just informed this evening by the head Captain I'll be running my first charter of the season on May 20th...it is at least metal...all steel a Skipperliner which handles like a block of Styrofoam floating on mercury...she goes sideways as fast as she goes forward...gheeezz! You get used to running them and one of the boats has no side windows to stick your head out to see if you are going to crash! No wing stations either at 95' she is a real bear in a breeze, the other one is 105' she at least has a thurster which does not do much as it is under powered. it has side windows and a cable remote control, hate it as it reacts so slow! OH well! Now the 70' is fun and has twin CAT's 3116's and big wheels...she does what she is told when you tell her...open bridge with Bimini...in the Northwest "Give me a break"!
Oh yeah! the charter on the 2oth is for Gates...yep Microsoft! Should be a kick and a handsome tip too! HEHE!   Capt PJ

Those guys can afford to have a tug standing by during berthing operations - heck, I'll follow you around and keep you out of trouble! Just throw me an hors d'oeuvres once in awhile. I love those mini-meatballs.

OK OK I'll post some pics of the boats...we are not allowed to take pics of the fun and festivities. BTW, we need to show up early for pat down and walk thru of the vessel with the authorites. Also all the crews names have been turned in and we have all been checked out (WHEW! Made it again!)...divers come down and check the bottom and there is Seattle police and sometimes USCG escorts...in those ALLOY speedsters...a repreive, pls! BTW SEA Police have a new one with 3 OB's, (I THINK)...will see if I can snap a pic of who ever escorts us. On the return trip to dock we are light and usually hand off some grub to the escort boats before we get underway from the mansion dock. It a real treat...don't think there was any meatballs last time. I like those too! There was some cheeses that I had never seen before..unusual but it tastes good! More later as it unfolds! Capt PJ

Oh your supposed to have it before now, if your a ticket holder.......and supposedly if you do not, then you may not get a new license. Is what I was told. The TWIC's card tax seemed to be more important that anything else to them. Because some fat azz Congressman's son in law makes the USCG readers/swipers for the cards, I guess.

You said the boat and crew gets a "once over" ??

That's why I asked.

Had mine a year now, and that was at least my 6th bacxkground check and finger printing. They know "Dicks hat band size", I believe. And not one single time have I been asked for it or about it, but they sure wanted that $130 and 5 hrs of my valuble time. Which is usually no less that $50 an hour to the rest of the world.
