This is one of my favourite rough water videos I have found on you tube. Pretty impressive I reckon, no doubt it is a steel boat though so please dont hang me :-I

BOW FLARE

Yes, I have seen your rough sea video.

It's nice to see that ship's extreme bow flare and how it seperates and lifts the hull from the on coming seas much better than if the hull didn't have the flare. The bulbus nose enters and keeps the boat entering the large on coming seas, while the great flare gives the necessary lift with the bulbus keeping it from being over lifted.

Imagine if that boat hull was without the flare how much more water would come over the bow and how deep it would penetrate the on coming wave. It to me shows the importance of bow flare.
