A friend of mine is looking at a 26 foot alloy with a 2004 Honda 225. He has heard of the bigger Hondas having issues with crankshaft thrust bearings. The motor has 950 hours and will be used commercially as a transporter, so it will be loaded heavily on occasion. The boat probably weighs around 6000 pounds and has a fairly shallow dead rise. What do you Honda guys say?

950, is just enough to be OVER any problems, and just the other day my pops and I were talking...Ya gotta get all the kinks worked out of products today, and the larger the mechanical or electrical device. of course the MORE upsetting the Kinks are.

That's the cheap azz world we live in today. But it seems once the kinks are all ironed out. Smooth sailing sailor boy.

That boat with a load is not going to be a speed demon and he may have to play with the prop to work with the load.

I have his number and email. He doesn't need to go fast. It is supposedly a 40+ mph boat. My old 24 hewescraft with twin F100s did 43mph and had a lot more deadrise. I suspect it will be fine. He will be shuttling people and kayaks mainly.

The new Honda 250's do have crank thrust bearing issues.

The 225 is a great motor and 950 hours is nothing.
