Hello All,
I've been reading this forum non-stop for the last few weeks, and finally decided to join. I live out on the east coast, not much in the way of larger aluminium boats out here...too bad. I have been drooling over all the "Ali Porn" posted on this site. Planning to build a 21' cuddy fishing boat such as the Tuna 21 designed by Conrad Yachts in Vancouver

I am overwhelmed with the amount of information I am finding on this forum, and would just like to say thanks to all the posters who have taken the time to give advise and years worth of knowledge! I am also reading Boatbuilding With Aluminum by Stephen Pollard which I am finding very informative. The build is a few years away, but in the mean time I will be practicing my welding, and saving my pennies! You guys are great, and have inspired me. Thank You!

Welcome!! Great group of knowledgeable gents here to say the least You are a few hours west of me. Fished the river for Striper's years ago and spent many hours standing in the salmon river years back
Looks like you've chosen a boat to build with some very nice lines Good luck and make sure to post pics

Welcome! There is a large body of gnosis reachable with the search function and pay close attention to the postings of kmorin, our resident naval engineer extraordinaire. I knew next to zero about boating when I joined, much less why alloy was the material of choice for those seeking low maintenance, extreme durability, and function following design. Enjoy!
I only do what the voices in the Tackle Box tell me to.

Alloy-
Hooked more salmon then I caught in the Oswego river(went to college there) haven't done any striper fishing yet, but spent a day watching YouTube vids of people hooking monsters! Maybe head down this spring and try my luck...
I have learned a lot already...and have read many of kmorin posts...in fact I printed out his intro to mig welding post...much respect!!
