Hello all,

I live in Valkenswaard, The Netherlands.
My age is 60 years and I fish all my life, I want to buy an aluminium boat, but it's hard to make a choice.
Question 1 (probably the oldest): welded or riveted.

Hope to find the answers here!

Kind regards,

Henk

Welcome!

Riveted hulls for light duty, welded for other uses. Riveted is cheap and will serve well where it is meant to be used, I fished out of several for most of my life since I live inland.

The experts will hopefully jump in and provide much better guidance.

Saltwater/ocean get a welded Boat Marine grade aluminum. Riveted boats are for freshwater.

Are you planning on purchasing one and having it Shipped to you. Those companies listed above don't look promising for building your boat. Bruce Roberts Europe bv should be able to sell you a set of plans with cut files. Check out.http://www.bruceroberts.com/
