it is sad!

I was just poking around our wonderful site today, and just happened to take a look at the stats section...then I began to LMAO...finally compsed myself enuf to write this:

Over the past few days of the Ocare IRS run SING-UP kick off the question has been asked repeatedly by most news services..How many folks have actually signed up? NO body in the govt can answer the question...yet our simple delightful and most informative web site has ALL the stats you could ever ask for and then some as far as I am concerned.

WHO needs to get fired? And we are allowing the Feds to be in charge of 17% of our economy and they had to hire 6000? more employees to do it, when the insurance companies already have the folks and a way of doing it...just let there be free enterprise across state lines...that would by itself bring down health insurance costs, then those with out could get it a bit easier and the gov could give them a HANDOUT to do that...wouldn't that be cheaper? ( I know...another handout).

Something else! We keep hearing how Social security is going to run out of money...when will WEFARE run out?

See what happenss when I go exploring on this site! :gunner2: :banghead: :deadhorse: :soap:

This Obamacare is a pathetic joke but I'm having a hard time laughing about it. I've been fine with a health insurance plan that I buy privately from a big Blue Cross affiliate for $660 per mo. (family of 3). They have to discontinue the policy because the guv now has minimum coverages that everyone has to have (maternity, mental, prescriptions, etc.) The new policy I'm now required to buy is $2400.00 per mo. Yeah, right. If I go on the exchange website its $2800.00 per mo. Guess I'll have to just pay the penalty for not having insurance for a couple of years until the wife & I get covered by medicare. Hope nothing catastrophic happens between now and then. No way I'm able to cough up $30k per year for health insurance. Obama, Reid & Pelosi can cram it up there arse :hammer:

Chaps, now I actually know someone that this is actually impacting...I don't know how stupid this can be...I don't know what is going to happen to my plan either as a retireee...I can go on medicare, but my sweetie has a few more years. I am trying to get some things done before the new year.

Goatram, If we am allowed to keep the program we have most likely we will be taxed too...it isn't a caddy program either.

We sure are finding out what is in it...like POLassee said...pass it and then let's read it! What an ALPHA HOTEL.

What are they thinking! PJ

Wow!! $600 /month to $2800 per month. Incredible difference.!! Is your coverage the same under both policies? - $600 /mo for 3 people or $200/person sounds like a really good deal if it is full coverage. I read ( in the Seattle Times) that so far something over 20,000 people here in Wa state have actually signed up for a policy under the ACA (Obamacare)

We will see how this thing plays out as we deal with the changes.

And the contract was awarded to a CANADIAN company then split up.

They should have used GoDaddy.

The policy we had ($600) was just a catastrophic coverage thing, real high deductable so we've been paying out of pocket for our health care but its been next to nothing because both the wife and I have no pressing issues, the policy was a backstop if something major happened and we've been fine with that. Remember when Obama said "you'll be able to keep your existing policies"? He was lying straight out. So now our old policy has been discontinued because in the great wisdom of our government the coverage was not sufficient and did not meet the minimum requirements of the "Affordable Care Act". We are now being forced to buy a bloated health policy that we don't need and at my age (early sixties) the premium is $1200.00 per mo, same for the wife and add the kid for another $300 or so and you get $2700.00 per month. Sound affordable? This socialist SOB is well on his way to destroying this country as we knew it. And I'm not saying that because I have to now pay for something I don't need. I'm saying it primarily because the vast majority of people signing up for obamacare are people that are going to get their health care for free or very cheap because they will be eligible for subsidies from uncle sam. The government is going to be making up the difference in premiums for people that are low income. For instance, if my income was around $35k that fat premium I have to pay now ($2700) would only be about $350 per month. The insurance company would get $350 from me and $2350 from the government. OK, it doesn't take much imagination to see that the program is going to bankrupt the country. Its another entitlement program, not a health care program. Its main purpose is to increase the Democrat voting bloc, nothing more.

I can understand your concerns. that is a tremendous difference in premium. I am a few years older than you and we have Group Health under Medicare and full coverage costs each of us $153 per month. We do pay a small copay for prescriptions and office calls, but it is insignificant. Prior to Medicare our premiums were over double that at Group Health. We feel very fortunate.

Health care is a major concern, particularily as we age and new stuff crops up. Good luck in your search for the right level .

Gentlemen, welcome to Socialism! They tell you what you need and charge anyone they can to pay for it.

Here we have socilised healthcare and a form of socialised accident care.
Don't bother getting sick 'cause there is only a limited amount of funding and unless you are critical then you are way down the waiting list (things like operable cancer won't get looked at untill it becomes terminal).
Accident insurance premiums are stealthily charged everywhere and re-named a 'levy'.
We have 15% sales tax and draconian income taxes to 're-distribute' wealth to those whom don't value education or have any work ethic.
1 in 3 workers is employed by the Government!

Margret Thatcher once said "The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other peoples money"!

Thomas Sowel, "I have never understood how it is greed to want to keep the money you earn, but not greed to want to take somebody elses"

Here is the liars statement:

During his campaign to pitch the law to voters back in 2009, President Barack Obama vowed that Obamacare would merely lower costs for Americans with health insurance while providing coverage to the uninsured.

“No matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise to the American people: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period,” Obama said to an audience at the annual conference of the American Medical Association. “If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what.”

“Again, [the Affordable Care Act] is for people who aren’t happy with their current plan. If you like what you’re getting, keep it. Nobody is forcing you to shift,” he later added.
