I don't know anything about the 2nd boat but the side rails are unfortunate.

If the builder/designer someone had thought to put these two rails on with some 'sheer' or a curve that was similar to the chine and reflective some, not much, but a little bit of a sense of design; this skiff would not look so poorly.

It may be well build and it may be a long lasting seaworthy hull, surely the sheer is attractive, the spoon of the forward 1/3 looks dry and well found; but those rails are right off a corn combine!

What is wrong with metal builders who won't spend some time working to make sweet lines, clean shapes and fair lines? Plenty do, (Pacific, Lee Shore's hulls certainly, even Munson pays some heed to sweet lines!) but there is a disturbing trend to the AGRICULTURAL in too many skiffs!!! :deadhorse:

If you go to their website, it indicates the designs all come from Steve Pollard (Specmar).

I saw one of their boats a couple of years ago, was nicely put together.
