Are the grocery store green scotchbrite pads fine enough/too coarse to polish out some dock rash? Lets just jast that I needed some improvement in my docking in the wind skills. I would prefer to polish it out, so I don't have a constant reminder..
Nothing damged, just a scuff I would like to remove.

Re: Scratch removal
post a picture of the scuff. Is there nyalic or shark hide on the hull?

Re: Scratch removal
Please do so the World of AAB will know? Green then white Scotch brite. But the area will be noticeable for a while. Especially if either Nylac or Shark Hide was used as an original finis.hcapesteve wrote:post a picture of the scuff. Is there nyalic or shark hide on the hull?

No coatings, pics to follow so I can show my stupidity.
Just a pride thing. The whole family got into a major scrub down of the boat after spending 10 days traveling around the islands

Re: Scratch removal
Bummer, at least it's easily correctable! I gotta know, how did the boat fare on the trip?
Re: Scratch removal
Awesome. No real complaints. One entrance door needs alignment and we better cushions on the V berth.
We ran into some rough currents caused by big tidal flows.
Normal cruise 28 knots 3500 rpm, 1.8mpg, about 16.x gph
We were running 17 knots, .9mpg for about 3 miles. It was not choppy just big rolly stuff.. Almost bar crossing type.
Not comfortable for the family. I need to watch the tides loser.
No other real issues. Really glad we went with the full head and shower. Wish there was more storage, Wish we had a rack for crab pots.

Re: Scratch removal
instead of polishing it out, the other option is to scuff up the other side so they match! :-)

Re: Scratch removal
I like that idea, for sure. Would be great to get crab or shrimp pots off the deck and up somewhere secure. Looks good, John.
