Hi guys!
I am a newbie to boats and trying to decide between these two boats:
Klamath Bayrunner Baja 17' (center console)
Hewescraft Sportsman 16 (wind screen + soft cover)
Will be fishing coastal waters near San Francisco Bay Area.
Both would fit my budget, garage space and tow capability (I drive a Honda van rated at 3500lb towing). The Klamath is a bit lighter, and the Hewescraft is a bit more spacious and seems more sturdy.
I think I can live with a center console but the windscreen is nicer in cold weather.
What would be other pros and cons with these two boats?
Thanks!

I really like the Klamath but where your at the wind screen would be real nice.
Are we looking at the same price range and would a Klamath 19 suit your needs a little better?

The 19 would be nice but won't fit my garage :-(welder wrote:I really like the Klamath but where your at the wind screen would be real nice.

The Klamath Baja has a 14 degree deadrise at stern, vs 10 degree for the Hewescraft. How much difference will this make, in terms of pounding?
