Southeast Louisiana guy new to the forum working on a 24-28' project. I need some help to get the best primer/paint for my boat. I know all about the prep just needing the best brand to stand against the South Louisiana sun and salt.

The best thing you can do for aluminum is have no paint at all!

Hoping someone can help us out!!! I have been looking at Alexseal. A local boat builder uses it to paint their builds.

I know most agree that your better off to not paint, but to each his own,I LIKE PAINT. The following pictures is at 4 years old, being Moored 6 months out of the year, being used as a commercial boat and charter boat. With a little care, paint can last a long time. I sand with 120 scotch bright , wash with alluma brite and a fairly week solution, let dry then I use a Dupont product called metal loc, its an epoxy primer coat, wait one hour then base coat, color coat, clear coat, all wet on wet. Thats my 2 cents
