Have a 24ft center console style boat ordered. Hopefully they will start welding after the 1st of the year. Going with twin Mercury 200s and the 200’s list steering options as below. If you want power steering on the 200s do you have to have the joystick piloting? The new 300 just lists it as power still. A couple different builders have told me that I want to stick with hydraulic steering, which I disagree but I have not done much with twin engine boats before. Anyone have thoughts on this? Current boat has a 300 verado and I love the power steering. Run the boat for work 40 plus hours a week and do a lot of maneuvering on boats so very much like the easy turning on the verado.
