Alvey Reels
Hey all you down under fella's. How do you like Alvey reels?. My father inlaw just hates fishing upside down as he calls it with bait casting reels and ordered an Alvey so he has his line guides down on his halibut rods.

My Dad is exactly the same. He has one for bottom bouncing but I've loaded it with 50lb braid so he is at least fishing with some sort of feel.
I don't really like them for this type of fishing, give me my Shimano overheads any day, but the casting models for beach / rock fishing can be a real weapon in the right hands!
