Yea Dave had just toooo much going on. Moving to Tillamook Bay in the morning and hopefully will have some eye candy for you folks. Unfortunately, I doubt I will get a pic of anyone in a bikini with that up coming weather report, unless their top blows off

Tipping your guide

As many guides out there, we work long and hard to make sure our clients have a time of their lives. Now, I don't claim to be a fishing god, but I do put fish in the boat, thus making a most enjoyable day for my clients. Some clients tip, some don't. Generally most will throw me a $20 spot per-head....

Oregon Fall Salmon Fishing Openings

Hi Folks! Back at home for a week, to catch up on the "honey do's" then back down to the Oregon Coast to get ready for the fast and furious Tillamook Bay Chinook fishery. These fish range from 30lbs to 50lbs, with about 40lbs being the norm. I will be fishing there from Sept. 21st ...

Removing Commerical Gillnets

As some of you know the Columbia River is still gill-netted by a few (approximately 150 active) commercial netters. As I understand it, the Florida sportsmen eliminated the indiscriminate commercial netting in Florida. I am very involved in getting the commercial off the river, the Indians are there...

Sorry I missed that one. Where the Columbia river meets the Pacific is the Columbia River Bar. It is the meanest bar in the country, and I've been in some really bad BACK SIDE bars in my time  Well there are two types of waves there: Type #1 Wave is a "Oh Crap" wave which requires o...

Hi IN2DEEP The rod holders are Scotty's http://www.scotty.com/marine/products/product/rodholders/index.html They are the most durable ones made. I've tried Downeasters, but they don't can't hold the bigger rods. The kicker is a 9.9 Merc Pro kicker that is not in drag  There are two flexible str...
