I remember he did a show up here fishing for BFT in CC Bay......he will be sadly missed He never appeared to be a big mouth self promoter like some of the other TV hosts but a man who fished with passion and was willing to teach.....

RIP Jose!!

Jose seemed to fish with the enthusiasm of a child looking at the Christmas tree with a pile of presents below it. What a damm shame! Wasn't afraid to laugh at himself. The old man above needed a fishing buddy so he chose one of the best. :thumbsup:

I googled it........never mind;

""The fishing world lost one of its most popular personalities late last week when Spanish Fly host Jose Wejebe died in a plane crash shortly after takeoff from Everglade Airpark in Florida. Wejebe, 54, was the sole occupant of the homebuilt single-engine plane.""

Similar to John Denver "home-built" aircraft.
Remind me when I'm a big time TV show angler to always take the bus. :nutkick:
