Greetings. Looks like it's customary to put your first post here and say a little about yourself. So here it is.

Along with being an avid fresh and saltwater fisherman here in Western WA, I also work in the aluminum boat biz. Look forward to learning, and occasionally contributing to this forum. Also own a little Almar Sounder.

J.D.

Hi J.D.
Welcome to this great site.

What is it that you do in the boat industry? There are many mfrs as members here and nobody will call you a spammer if you talk about and post pics of your boats. It's just good to know where ideas are coming from.

Post some pics of the Almar when you get around to it.
Best,
Dave

JD, post a picture or two of your boat in the BOAT SHOW 08 forum and you may add your link to your sig.

Hang out for awhile and see what you think and we will go from there.

Eagle Craft is actually up in Campbell River BC. Its only about 200 miles from Seattle, but it takes about 12 hours to get up there.

A warm AAB Welcome to you JD, You have to love those Almars... seems alot of guides and lodges love them too...... One day I will go to the Waterfall Resort in Alaska and fish from one of their Almar's.

The two aluminum manufacturers that got me started on this alloy journey was Norsco Marine and Almar marine. Norsco went the way of many boat manufacturers but Almar stands the test of time.

I would love to see pictures of your Almar

Yeah, boatbuilding is saturated with outfits that close their doors. The Norsco group re-emerged as Ottercraft and I would put them up against anything in terms of fit, finish, design & durability so its nice to see one make a strong recovery.

And welcome JD! We all want to know who you are working for!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I would imagine that most of you are familiar Almar and North River Boats. Well you'll find me up here 45 minutes north of Seattle at our factory outlet. (no production here).

I will put a pic of the old Sounder shortly.

Hey Bob. How's the Aerohead project coming along?? I got the right Bob right?

Hello - I own Ottercraft and am pleased to read the comments regarding our commerical duty boats.

They are one of a kind, I would put them up against any boat - durable, reliable, dry ride and you will always come home , best with FISH

We have boats out there working 7 days a week in all sorts of weather several in AK that would amaze you

Nan - welcome to the forum!

No doubt your boats are outstanding and drop-dead gorgeous.

What percentage of your boats are bought by private citizens? I'd bet most go to agencies & municipalities?

Unlike a lot of forums the mods here welcome input from builders to include photos of your stuff and technical info. No blatant sales pitches but to us alloy boats are eye candy so post away!
