Great post Jay. Thanks for sharing.

I too was very interested in see the suspension seats.

Of course it was duly noted that the Moose catamaran didn't need them. :P

Bummer about your dog- I'd spoil the heck out of her with treats and love. The long rods can be tilted down, not straight at the fish, but with just enough lift on the rod to keep a slight bend to absorb shock. That will take a lot of pressure off of you by not trying to create a rainbow bend. Short...

These cabin boats are well thought out IMO. I disagree with the comment about lack of cockpit space and feel that center consoles are highly overrated. CC's have very few creature comforts in terms of seating, especially for passengers. They lack cover from the sun or cold, are imposible to climatiz...

That really came out nice. Great setup. Where in Baja are you located, east cape?

Your shade looks nice and big, but a pull out trombone on the backside might be an added comfort when you slow down to drift or troll.

Like your beach launching setup!!!

Down boys. Some people have problems with their mobilty and stability in rough water on small boats and HI is famous for that. Others just like a chair as they fish with heavy equipment that require a chair, or flat out just like that style of fishing. But there is not enough room for a formal fight...

The Lincoln MP is a nice unit but very expensive ($6K) once you incorporate the gun, especially for the hobbiest that might want to add accessories or repair an alloy hull. I would sure like to know what economical square wave machines are available for 1/4" capable on a limited duty cycle with...

[quote="IN2DEEP"]Bullshipper, If you are trying to add weight to your current boat, they use water bags in ski/wake board boats to add weight in their sterns. If you are just planning for your future boat construction then disregard this. Here's an example of the water bags. There are many...

Cutting off the extensions with a grinder then using sandpaper to smooth it out is not a hard job, as alloy is vey soft.

I understood the question of stability at rest, but wanted to know if this had been taken one more step. My current NON ALLOY 20' CC runs bow light even though the console and seating are positioned quite forward. So on this hull I added a 100 lb cooler+ 100 lbs in extra gas in a rack on the bow to ...

[quote="Chaps"]Bull, That pic I posted was a weld done with an even different mig mode called "power mode" on the Lincolns. The pulse will give the stacked dimes type of bead depending on your settings. I found it, power mode on .080 (base plate) & .060 sheet: [img]http://img...

After looking at some pictures that Chaps posts, I am under the impression that a pulse or spray arc machine can produce smooth welds that do not have the dimes stacked on dimes look that can increase drag factors. True?

Ballast

Do any of the austrailian ballast designs allow you to close a valve so that water doesn't drain out when lifting on plane? Do you think this would help the ride going against in a head sea chop in an offshore alloy monohull? Do you think a forward ballast tank would be an additional help for trim t...

I used to sell over 15 million salmon for release to one company alone in Oregon, so this gives y...

Kimbo is a hard puncher and a smart guy, but the buzz is that his handlers are rushing him in over his head just to make a quick buck.

I believe a NY policeman has already beaten him up pretty bad in a cheap exhibition fight.

A cubic foot of water is 7.45 gallons, figure your gallons and the guy at the bait reciever will give you an idea on how many to buy. The tank is in a good place to counter balance the weight of your kicker, lets water over the bow drain from the hull and is a tuna door all in one, so some thought w...
